Four bathing landscapes
Ocean, mountain town, Kaga culture and Hokuriku gardens give each stop its own character.

Onsen · 16 nights
Sea, steam and snow: four hot-spring regions, six stays.
The idea behind the journey
Begin beside Osaka Bay, then travel through four different bathing landscapes. Shirahama brings the Pacific, Arima the intimacy of an old mountain town, Yamashiro the ceramics and bathhouses of Kaga, and Awara a final Hokuriku stay. Two nights at Rinku Town at each end give the longer railway moves room to breathe.
Follow the journey
Ocean, mountain town, Kaga culture and Hokuriku gardens give each stop its own character.
A first afternoon to arrive, a full day to explore and another to enjoy the property.
Compare ryokan plans with dinner and breakfast; the regional food can be a major part of the stay.

A suggested programme
Day 1 is the first hotel night in Japan. An overnight international flight may leave the previous day. Adjust outings for opening days, weather and your own pace.
Cross to Rinku Town and keep the first evening simple.
Walk the waterfront and make time for the hotel’s public baths.
Join the coastal rail route and complete the local hotel transfer.
Explore the coastline and compare local bathing options.
Choose a short coastal outing and keep time for the hotel.
Allow a substantial transfer day through the Osaka/Kobe area.
Explore Arima on foot, with bathing and a leisurely meal.
Enjoy the property, a local walk and a second unhurried evening.
Use a checked connection through Tsuruga and Kaga Onsen, followed by local transport.
Explore the town and investigate its public bathhouses.
Make room for Kutani pottery, tea and the ryokan.
Confirm the station and hotel connection; the bath town and rail gateway have different names.
Enjoy the property and a short local outing.
Keep plans responsive to winter weather and transport.
Allow time for the southbound connections rather than planning a same-day international flight.
Pack, walk by the bay and enjoy one last bath.
Make the short airport journey around the actual flight and terminal.
The connections
These are route notes, not confirmed departures. Recheck the complete connection, including the walk, bus or taxi at each end.
JR or Nankai train stopping at Rinku Town; check the service before boarding.
Connect via Hineno or the appropriate Osaka-area station to a suitable Kuroshio service; then bus or taxi.
Rail towards Osaka/Kobe, then local rail or bus. This is a travel day, not a short hop.
Return to the main network, use Thunderbird to Tsuruga and a suitable Hokuriku Shinkansen connection to Kaga Onsen; finish by bus, shuttle or taxi.
Compare station transfers and short rail connections. Awaraonsen Station and Awarayunomachi Station are distinct.
Use a checked southbound rail connection; the final Rinku stay separates this from the flight home.
