About Fumi Tours

Discover the real Japan.

Thoughtful journeys, independent choices and a closer connection with the places and people you meet.

Travel on your own terms.

Fumi Tours brings together eight journeys developed from the Japan Trip planning collection. Each has a route, a suggested programme and selected places to stay. We look for appealing destinations, useful connections and good value, with railway guides and field exercises linked where they help.

The idea behind Fumi.

Fumi is being designed as a travel companion that helps people go beyond translation: understanding a conversation, asking their own questions and making their own choices. Meals, shopping and local recommendations are opportunities to connect, while travellers remain in charge.

This website demonstrates that direction. Live Fumi conversation and travel assistance are not yet available here. The itinerary collection, route diagrams, railway guides and public field worksheets can be used now.

Make the trip your own.

These are independently planned itineraries, not bookable packages. Relative days make the routes reusable; dates, fares, rooms and services should be checked for your own trip. Historical planning quotes are labelled separately and do not promise current availability.

The field programme.

The November Kansai-to-Tokyo field trip is a working railway survey. Its public pages share learning objectives and exercises; precise personal movements and reservations stay in the private itinerary. Observations from real journeys help identify where better travel guidance could make a difference.

Illustrations and photographs.

Original scenic illustrations give the collection a shared visual identity. They are imagined scenes, not photographs of hotels. Genuine photographs retain their attribution on the credits page. Route diagrams are original schematics, not operator maps.

Independent and practical.

This site is independent of airlines, hotels and rail operators. Use current official sources for departures, opening times and facilities, and follow station signs and staff instructions on the day.

Our public address is FumiTours.com. Japan Tours & Field Notes remains the descriptive name for the collection and its research.
